Summary:
The Project Controls Engineer/Commissioning Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive project controls support throughout the entire project lifecycle, with a strong focus on commissioning and startup activities. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Scheduling & Control: Utilize project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, Smart Completions or other) to develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and identify potential delays.

Monitor project budgets, forecast costs, and analyze variances.

Utilize data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to track key project metrics, generate reports, and identify trends.

Document Control: Implement and maintain a robust document control system to track and organize all project documentation, including commissioning documents, test records, and other relevant files.

Quality Control: Review and validate all aspects of the work to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.

Oversee and participate in inspections, tests, and performance verifications.

Commissioning & Startup: Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to plan and execute commissioning activities.

Monitor and track commissioning progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of all commissioning tasks.

Support the development and execution of test plans and procedures.

Document all commissioning activities accurately and comprehensively.

Communication & Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate project status, issues, and solutions to project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Prepare and present progress reports, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.

Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders.

Proactively identify and resolve conflicts or disputes between stakeholders.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Identify and analyze project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact project schedule, budget, or quality.

Make sound decisions to ensure project objectives are met within budget and on schedule.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other project personnel.

Guide and motivate team members on the effective use of project management tools and processes.

Technical Knowledge: With support from the engineering team, develop an understanding of relevant mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

Gain familiarity with commissioning procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

10 years of experience in project controls, construction management, or a related field.

Proven experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).

Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).

Strong understanding of project scheduling principles and methodologies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Base Salary
$58/hr - $72/hr
